The Bowl

Sometimes our struggles can feel like being trapped in a "bowl," where others can see their pain even if they can't fully see it themselves. This blog emphasizes that asking for help out of this "bowl" is an act of courage that leads to a better, more compassionate path forward.

Hello All,

I hope this message finds you in a safe, warm, and compassionate place. If not, please feel free to reach out to us. I have noticed that, in addiction and mental health, when we are in the throes of our struggles, it can be very hard to see reality clearly. It’s almost like we are in a bowl or a small glass globe (like a goldfish), where everyone else can see us and how we are living, but we may not see ourselves in the same light, from the same perspective. Why do you think that is?

When we are in this bowl, we lose sight of our true selves and well-being.

We might even think “We’re doing fine” or “We’re okay,” but the reality is we are struggling to keep swimming around in this bowl. We may be in need of some support, assistance, or help.

It’s truly okay to ask for help. It takes courage and strength, but the outcome of reaching out is far better than the path we are on. Just ask—that’s all it takes! You can do it, I believe in you! You deserve it.
